ken kuniyukiKen Kuniyuki has practiced as a trial lawyer and advocate since 1973.  He has been a partner in Kuniyuki & Chang since 1981.  During that time, he has tried numerous cases in the Courts of Hawaii, including the Federal District Court for the District of Hawaii. These cases have included personal injury cases for both the Plaintiff and Defendant. His trial and advocacy work also includes construction deficiency claims, and business and commercial disputes.

  • As an undergraduate at the University of Hawaii, Mr. Kuniyuki worked as a student engineer at KHET Television Station and also helped start KTUH Radio. Both he and Louis Chang were interns in the Hawaii State Governor’s office as undergraduates. While attending law school at the University of California at Berkeley, Mr. Kuniyuki also worked for two years as the administrative assistant to the City Manager of the city of Dublin, California.
  • After returning to Hawaii after law school, Mr. Kuniyuki helped establish the Hawaii Chess Federation, the state affiliate of the United States Chess Federation and as its first president, helped National Chess Master Eric Schiller set up the Hawaii International Chess Tournament series.
